Eight South Burnett players have been selected in the inaugural Regional Queensland Under 18 and Under 20 teams which will play South-East Queensland in a representative game at Redcliffe on July 28.

The youth teams (see below) were announced after the two-day 47th Battalion carnival held at Briffney Creek Fields in Gladstone at the weekend.

The South Burnett Eagles U18s had a good carnival, notching up two wins, but didn’t make it into the final.

The Eagles U20s faced the Rockhampton Rustlers in their final, going down 12-10 after fighting back from a 12-4 deficit at half-time.

Murgon Mustang Karl Berlin was named Player of the Final.
