A 36-year-old Tingoora man is facing a number of charges after allegedly punching a police officer who was called to a domestic disturbance at a house in Kurtellen Crescent, Kingaroy, on Friday evening.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said when police arrived at the residence about 6:00pm they heard glass being smashed.
A policeman went around the back of the house to investigate where he was allegedly confronted by a man acting aggressively.
A second officer arrived and the man allegedly struggled with police.
During the incident the police officer was allegedly punched in the groin.
Police were forced to use capsicum spray to subdue the man and arrest him.
Tasers were presented during the incident but not used.
The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 30, been charged with breaching a Domestic Violence Order, trespassing, serious obstruction of police and serious assault of police.
