May 24, 2018

There will be new faces running the Kingaroy Pool when it re-opens after its scheduled winter closure.

South Burnett Regional Council announced on Thursday the lease with current managers Donna and Joe Dangerfield for the WJ Lang Memorial Olympic Pool had concluded “with both parties mutually agreeing to end the lease arrangements”.

A Council spokesperson said the pool would be closed for the remainder of the term and during winter.

“Council anticipates the pool will reopen on Saturday, September 22,” the spokesperson said.

“Council will be seeking tenders for the management of the pool in the coming months.

“Council would like to advise the South Burnett Aquatic Centre in Nanango remains open during the winter months.

“Please contact the pool managers at the South Burnett Aquatic Centre to discuss swimming and exercise programs and access to the hydrotherapy pool.

“The hydrotherapy pool and 25m pool will remain heated for the winter months.

“Council would like to wish the Dangerfields all the best for their future endeavours.”

  1. Sad to see the Dangerfields leaving the pool – but how do we get our money back for swimming lessons we have paid for that our children won’t be getting?

  2. I’m not sure how everyone else is faring but it has now been 4 months and we have not been refunded the money we paid in advance.
