Kingaroy Police have been kept busy over the past week with a string of traffic, drug offences and – sadly – the usual calls related to domestic violence.
Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney said Kingaroy police attended six domestic violence incidents, issued 12 infringement notices for life-endangering traffic offences and performed 248 roadside breath tests.

On Saturday, running out of fuel allegedly sparked a violent incident on Kingaroy-Cooyar Road.
Kingaroy police were called to a disturbance involving a man and woman.
When they pulled up, they found a Holden ute that was missing its bonnet. The battery had been pulled out and thrown across the highway and the dash and steering wheel were severely damaged and pulled apart.
Police will allege that a 33-year-old Nanango man assaulted a 29-year-old Kingaroy woman after becoming angry because the vehicle they were in ran out of fuel.
The woman was driven away from the scene by a passing motorist.
The man was later located and charged with assault occasioning bodily harm and will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 18.

Monday
- At 4:10am, police intercepted a 28-year-old Leichhardt woman driving a Chrysler station wagon. A subsequent search of the vehicle allegedly located an amphetamine pipe in the vehicle and a small quantity of cannabis in a bag in the boot. The woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 2 charged with possessing a dangerous drug, possessing a drug utensil and unlicensed driving. Her vehicle was impounded and application made for forfeiture.
Tuesday
- At 12:40am, an unknown person entered a Youngman Street business and attempted to steal a coin-dispensing machine from the wall of the business. The would-be thief was unsuccessful and only damaged the machine. The suspect was wearing a black balaclava, camouflage shirt, blue jeans and black shoes. Investigations are continuing.
- At 4:00am, police spoke to a 30-year-old Kingaroy man in a park on Kingaroy Street. Police will allege he admitted being in possession of a knife which he produced and surrendered to them. He allegedly could not provide any lawful reason for having the knife in a public place. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with possessing a knife in a public place.
- Police received a complaint that at 3:15pm on Oliver Street, a white Holden sedan at the intersection of Youngman Street performed “doughnuts” before going out of control and being driven off.
- At 11:00pm, police intercepted the driver of a Holden Commodore after observing suspect activity between a pedestrian and the driver of the vehicle on Albert Street. A search of the driver, a 35-year-old Kingaroy man, allegedly located a small quantity of amphetamine hidden in his sock. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with possessing a dangerous drug, driving an unregistered vehicle and driving an uninsured vehicle. Police subsequently located the pedestrian, a 40-year-old Kingaroy man, who was charged with three counts of supplying a dangerous drug and possession of a thing used in commission of a drug offence. He will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14.
Wednesday
- At 4:35am, police intercepted a 25-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Holden sedan on River Road, Kingaroy. The man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court charged with driving while disqualified. The vehicle was impounded and an application will be made for its forfeiture.
- At 10:00am, police executed a search warrant at a residence in Andrew Street, Wooroolin. Police will allege they located a cannabis plant being grown in the garden, and drug utensils in the possession of a 27-year-old man. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 21 charged with producing a dangerous drug and possession of drug utensils.
- At 10:20am, police executed a search warrant at a Crawford Road residence. Police will allege they located the resident, a 24-year-old woman, with drugs and drug utensils. She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with possessing a dangerous drug and drug utensils.
Thursday
- At 7:45am, police pulled over a Holden ute on Haly Street being driven by a 26-year-old Yarraman man. The male driver will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with driving while unlicensed (SPER suspended).
Friday
- At 10.30am, police detected a motorist travelling at 101km/h in a 60km/h zone on Haly Street, Kingaroy. The driver will receive a $1177 fine, lose eight demerit points and be disqualified from driving for six months.
- At 12:10pm, police spoke to an 18-year-old Kingaroy man on Fisher Street. Police will allege that, while talking to him, they observed he was holding something in his pants pocket. The man allegedly dropped the object, a knife, on to the ground when requested by police. He will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 21 charged with possessing a knife in a public place.
- At 4:10pm, police intercepted a 42-year-old Cleveland man driving a Ford sedan on Alford Street, Kingaroy. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with driving while disqualified. His vehicle was immobilised for 90 days.
- Police were called to a hotel in Glendon Street, Kingaroy, at 9:50pm after reports of a man smashing a window. Police will allege a 26-year-old Mundoolun man smashed a window after being removed by security staff due to his behaviour. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with wilful damage.
- At 11:55pm, police allegedly located a a 28-year-old Kingaroy man in possession of drugs on Haly Street. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4.
Saturday
- At 2:55pm, police intercepted a 23-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Mitsubishi sedan on Haly Street. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with driving while unlicensed (SPER suspended).
- At 3:00pm, police intercepted a 28-year-old Kingaroy man driving a Nissan stationwagon on Youngman Street. He will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with driving while unlicensed (demerit point suspended).
- Police were making patrols of Doonkuna Street when they located a 37-year-old Nanango man in a park. They will allege that a search of the man located a small quantity of amphetamine. He will appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4 charged with possessing a dangerous drug and drug utensils.
Sunday
- A 36-year-old Kingaroy man allegedly blew 0.099 BAC after being pulled over by police while driving a Toyota on Prince Street at 4:15am. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court charged with driving while over the general limit.
- Police are investigating a break and enter at Muffin Break in Kingaroy Shoppingworld. Overnight an unknown person or persons gained entry by forcing a glass panel in an external glass door and unlocking the door. A safe containing a quantity of cash was stolen.
- At 3:25pm, police from the Roadside Drug Testing Unit pulled over a Holden Commodore on Alford Street. The driver, a 31-year-old Kingaroy man, allegedly returned a BAC 0.150 – three times over the limit. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4.
- At 4:45pm, the Kingaroy Road Policing Unit intercepted a 25-year-old Kingaroy woman driving on Queen Street, Kingaroy. She allegedly tested positive for both methylamphetamine and cannabis. She was issued with a Notice to Appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on July 2.
- At 9:25pm, a 42-year-old Cleveland man was allegedly found in possession of a dangerous drug when police spoke to him on Queen Street. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on June 4.
