Artist Olivia Everitt … planning another mural art project in Murgon

April 17, 2018

South Burnett artist Olivia Everitt is planning another mural project in Murgon – and she’s seeking feedback from the local community about the project.

Olivia, who has recently worked on murals at Gumnut Place, the South Burnett PCYC building and the Telstra Sub-Station – is teaming up with South Burnett artists Lee Porter and Carolyn Summers on her latest project.

The mural will be painted on the Murgon Visitor Information Centre building in QEII Park in Lamb Street.

“South Burnett Regional Council and the artists would like to showcase the Murgon community and tourism sites to visitors by depicting up to six painted scenes of local activities and/or significant places nearby,” Olivia said.

Olivia has invited Murgon residents to share their ideas before Wednesday (April 18) in a simple online survey or in person at the Murgon VIC.

If everything goes to schedule, painting will get underway later this month.

The SBRC project is being supported by the Federal Government’s Regional Arts Fund Quick Response grant program.
