Linc Energy has been found guilty in the Brisbane District Court of causing serious environmental harm at its underground coal gasification project near Chinchilla.
The company, which is in liquidation, had pleaded not guilty to five charges of wilfully causing environmental harm between 2007-13.
The trial has been running since January 29 however Linc Energy was not represented and offered no evidence in its own defence.
Crown Prosecutor Ralph Devlin QC alleged Linc was aware it was causing serious damage but allowed operations to continue, releasing contamination into the soil, air and water table.
The company will be sentenced in May.
