The South Burnett Show Society is planning a new-look event this year for the announcement of its 2018 Kingaroy Miss Showgirl.
Instead of a ball or cabaret at the Kingaroy Town Hall in the lead-up to show, the society is planning a Show Gala Dinner on April 20 at the Kingaroy Showgrounds.
The people behind the event are Wayne “Bushy” Bushell and Eddie McGregor, the forces behind several very successful fundraising charity events in Kingaroy over the past couple of years.
The latest, a Rotary Charity Dinner earlier this month, raised $8225 for a mental health program.
The Show Gala Dinner will be held at the Kucks Pavilion in Youngman Street.
Eddie will prepare the buffet dinner, while Bushy will man the bar.
There will be live music on the night as well as an auction for a gourmet degustation dinner.
Tickets will be $55 (adult), $40 (age 12-17) and $10 (under 12) and are available at the Show Society office at the Kingaroy Showgrounds.
Dress is smart casual.
