Police are astounded that 15 alleged drug drivers have been detected in the South Burnett since last Thursday.

* * *

THURSDAY

  • At 9:25pm, police intercepted a 40-year-old Kingaroy man driving on Edward Street, Kingaroy. The man allegedly returned a positive drug swab. Investigations are continuing.

* * *

FRIDAY

  • A 29-year-old Nanango man was pulled over on the D’Aguilar Highway at Nanango on Friday. He allegedly tested positive to methylamphetamine. He will appear in Nanango Magistrates Court on April 26th.

The Kingaroy Road Policing Unit was very active in the Blackbutt area on Friday:

  • A Benarkin North man was intercepted by the Kingaroy RPU driving on John Street, Blackbutt, allegedly with cannabis in his saliva. He will appear in the Nanango Magistrates Court on April 26.
  • A 35-year-old Blackbutt man driving on Hart Street, Blackbutt, allegedly tested positive to cannabis. He will appear in the Nanango Magistrates Court on April 5.
  • A 28-year-old Blackbutt woman was intercepted on Douglas Street, Blackbutt, allegedly with a relevant drug present in her blood. She will appear in the Nanango Magistrates Court at a later date.

SATURDAY

  • At 3:00pm on Saturday, the police stopped a Mazda ute on Haly Street. The 38-year-old male driver, from Wondai, allegedly tested positive to cannabis and methylamphetamine and will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 23 charged with drug-driving.
  • An hour later, police pulled over a 31-year-old Wondai woman on Alford Street. She will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14 charged with drug-driving.
  • Ninety minutes later, a Ford ute was stopped by police on William Street, Kingaroy. A 20-year-old Ellesmere man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14 charged with drug-driving.
  • At 9:50pm, police pulled over a Nissan ute on Youngman Street, Kingaroy. A 28-year-old Eli Waters man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14 charged with drug-driving.

SUNDAY

  • On Sunday morning, police intercepted a Holden Commodore on Walter Road, Kingaroy, at 7:30am. The driver, a 38-year-old Kingaroy woman, will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14 charged with drug-driving.
  • An hour later, a Ford ute was stopped by police on Youngman Street, Kingaroy. A 55-year-old man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 23 charged with drug-driving after allegedly testing positive to cannabis.
  • At 10:10am, police stopped a 44-year-old Blacktown, NSW, man driving on Haly Street, Kingaroy.  The man allegedly returned a positive drug test to cannabis. He will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on April 23.
  • At 11:30am on Sunday, police pulled over a Holden sedan on Alford Street, Kingaroy. A 24-year-old Nanango woman will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14 charged with drug-driving. Police allege the woman was later spotted at 1:00pm, driving on Alford Street after her licence had been suspended for 24 hours. She was issued with a $193 traffic infringement notice for driving while unlicensed.
  • At 2:00pm, police stopped a Holden sedan on Haly Street, Kingaroy. A 26-year-old Inala man will appear in Kingaroy Magistrates Court on May 14 charged with drug-driving.

Patrols were conducted by the Kingaroy and Dalby Road Policing Units as well as the Roadside Drug Testing Unit from Brisbane.
