One person was taken by ambulance to Kingaroy Hospital after a Mitsubishi Lancer sedan and a Holden Commodore stationwagon collided on Alford Street about 2:15pm on Monday

Police investigations are continuing after jewellery was stolen for a unit in First Avenue, Kingaroy, on Friday morning.

Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant David Tierney, said the jewellery was believed to have been taken at some time between 8:00am and 11:15am.

There were no signs of forced entry.

Thieves smashed the passenger side window of a Toyota Corolla sedan parked behind a Youngman Street business at the weekend.

A wallet, containing no cash, and a car stereo faceplate were stolen.

The South Burnett Traffic Advisory Committee has recommended that a speed camera zone be established along the main street of Hivesville.

The speed limit on the Wondai-Proston Road is 100km/h but drops to 60km/h through Hivesville.

The committee has also reduced the speed limit at the western end of Haly Street, Kingaroy, from 80km/h to 60km/h.

A temporary reduction had been put in place during roadworks but this has now been made permanent.

A 35-year-old Oxenford woman has been charged with possessing restricted medications after her vehicle was pulled over by police on the Bunya Highway near Kingaroy on Friday night.

Snr Sgt Tierney said a search of her vehicle allegedly located a quantity of unauthorised prescribed medication.
