The Murgon Mustangs took the highway north on Saturday night for a trial pre-season game against the Gayndah Gladiators.
The Gladiators, who were using the game as a fundraiser for the club, came out on top 16-10 as the rain poured down.
The clash between the two premiership-winning sides from 2017 was played at times in torrential rain.
The other two trial matches scheduled for Saturday night – in Nanango and Kingaroy – were both washed out.

Selection trials to pick a South Burnett U12 team will be held on Sunday, March 11, at Murgon Showgrounds from 2:00pm.
The team will play in Dalby on Sunday, March 18.

Kingaroy Red Ants will be hosting three trial matches on Saturday at T.J. O’Neill Oval against Across the Waves teams from Bundaberg.
Game times:
- 3:30pm – Under 16s
- 5:00pm – South Burnett Under 18s
- 6:15pm – A Grade
Gates open at 2:30pm; adults $2.oo and children are free.
