The latest incident occurred at the same spot as January’s double fatal crash

February 26, 2018

The Department of Transport and Main Roads has lowered the speed on the Bunya Highway near the Moffatdale turn-off to 40km/h.

This follows an incident last week where a B-double jackknifed and ended up in a ditch on the side of the road.

The crash occurred near where a double fatal crash involving a truck and a 4WD occurred in January.

After this tragedy, the speed limit on the stretch of road was lowered from 100km/h to 60km/h.

The 40km/h limit is temporary while the Department and police continue to investigate the causes of the crashes.
