February 7, 2018

Kingaroy’s new police station now has its new Officer-in-Charge … Senior Sergeant David Tierney officially began at the station on Monday.

Snr Sgt Tierney comes to Kingaroy from Dalby Station where he has spent the past 13 years, his last role as shift supervisor.

“I am looking forward to working here,” he told southburnett.com.au

“I was very happy at Dalby but when this opening at Kingaroy came up, I had to apply.

“It is a very similar situation to Dalby and the town has the same sort of issues.”

One new thing about the Kingaroy job has Snr Sgt Tierney particularly happy.

“It’s the first time in 33 years as a police officer that I haven’t worked shift work!”

Snr Sgt Tierney said he was looking forward to working with the local community.

He has already met with the Community Policing Committee and will be part of the Disaster Management Committee.

He also has plans to launch a myPolice blog for the Kingaroy region.
