Kingaroy Police are investigating an incident which occurred in Kingaroy on Saturday in which an elderly man suffered serious fractures from an alleged assault.
The incident, in Arthur Street, followed an alleged domestic dispute between a younger man and an older man.
The older man was taken to Kingaroy Hospital and then transferred to Toowoomba Hospital for further treatment.
Three women and three children in the house at the time are not believed to have been hurt.
Investigations are continuing.
