Kingaroy residents experienced their coldest February minimum temperature on record last Friday when the thermometer dropped to just 17.7 degrees Celsius.
The temperature, recorded at Kingaroy Airport, compares with the average low temperature for February of 26.8 degrees.
The previous lowest temperature recorded in Kingaroy during February was 20.5 degrees on February 18, 2013.
New record February lows were also recorded in Stanthorpe (15.8 degrees), Toowoomba (16.4 degrees) and Warwick (16.9 degrees).
The Bureau of Meteorology blamed a thick cloud band and cold southerly winds for the unusually chilly weather.
The Bureau is predicting more cool nights and warm days for the rest of the week, with maximum temperatures of 36-37 degrees forecast for the weekend.
