Wet weather has forced the postponement of a road tour scheduled for Tuesday which was to have been part of a push to get State and Federal governments to improve transport links in the western part of the South Burnett.

The Mundubbera to Jandowae Roads Working Group (RWG) had planned to tour the Chinchilla-Wondai Road (west of Durong) and Mundubbera-Durong Road.

The tour was also to include John Peterson Bridge, across the Boyne River south of Mundubbera, which would have been replaced with a new $35 million bridge had the LNP won government at the recent State Election.

BIEDO CEO Kirsty Frahm said potential road closures after the recent rain could have prevented some participants from attending.

“The RWG tour will be rescheduled to a date to be advised,” she said.

Chair of the RWG is AgForce SEQ Director and Durong grazier Georgie Somerset.
