The South Burnett Rewards promotion … one of the items on the agenda for the ‘South Burnett Unpacked’ tourism workshop

The South Burnett Regional Council will be hosting an all-day tourism workshop at Yallakool Tourist Park next Thursday (November 23) for local tourism operators.

“South Burnett Unpacked” will provide an opportunity for tourism stakeholders to discuss opportunities and challenges in the South Burnett tourism economy.

“Tourism is a major economic activity in the South Burnett with a wide-ranging impact on economic growth, employment, social and cultural integration.” a Council spokesperson said.

“The tourism sector currently faces a number of development needs and challenges.”

South Burnett unpacked will focus on the following topics:

  • Visitor Economy
  • South Burnett Rewards
  • Two Dams, One Destination
  • Fishing in the South Burnett
  • Food Tourism
  • Events
  • Visitor Information Centres as “welcome centres”
