Nanango State High School students stepped into the limelight on Thursday night for their annual Year 12 Formal.

As in previous years, the event was held in Nanango State High School’s hall, which was elaborately decorated for the occasion.

Following a long-standing tradition, many students gathered at historic Ringsfield House before getting into their vehicles for the short trip to the high school.

Ringsfield is currently closed while a new operator settles in, and will be reopening later this week.

But the students had permission to use the grounds as usual, ensuring the formal’s long connection with one of the region’s most historic buildings remained unbroken.

Student transportation ranged from a classic Holdens and Fords through to more contemporary models, a Mustang and even a motorcycle.

On arrival, the couples walked along a short red carpet past a large crowd of eager spectators to enter the hall for the evening’s festivities, where more photographers awaited them.
