Taabinga State School P&C hosted the biggest fete Kingaroy has seen for years on Saturday, an event that stretched for a massive 10 hours.

The community fete featured a giant slide, multiple rides, jumping castles, live entertainment and even a licensed bar in the evening.

More than 25 stalls were selling everything from secondhand books and baked goods, to plants and toys. And, of course, there was the obligatory white elephant stall.

Kingaroy police and fire brigade also had vehicles to explore.

A popular stall was the “splat” chair where children had the opportunity to throw a ball and “splat” a teacher with a water-filled balloon.

(As it was such a warm day, few minded getting the drenching.)

Also popular was the laser skirmish playground and there was a long queue at the face-painting.

A stage area was set up for karate and dancing demonstrations, performances by the Kingaroy State High School band and a Taabinga State School talent quest.

In the evening, Luke Medcalf and Dean Fresser took over the entertainment for the adults.

The day, which had been 12 months in the planning, was topped off with a massive fireworks display.

Profits from the fete will go towards adding more air-conditioning at the school.

Jett, 11, and Zeke Johnson, 14, from Kingaroy were enjoying the fete and exploring the stalls which had everything … including unicorn masks
Most people aren’t this keen to spend time in a paddy wagon … Brae Bartlett, 4; Tiahna Bartlett, Piper Bauer, 4 months; and Zayne Bartlett, 6, were interested in the police display
