South Burnett residents will be treated to a whacky new experience this Saturday night when Bogan Bingo make its debut in the region.

Bogan Bingo is a cross between a night of stand-up comedy and bingo – half game show, half party.

A bingo caller calls out the numbers and his budding DJ friend plays songs from the 80s and 90s that rhyme with those numbers.

Throw in some hilarious jokes, tributes, and a spontaneous air guitar competition and you have all the ingredients for a fun night out.

Bogan Bingo was created 12 years ago as a touring show and has now been performed at more than 3000 venues all around Australia.

The show has been developed into a product that incorporates every type of entertainment most audiences are ever likely to find.

It combines the comedy laughs of an open mic night with the crowd focus of a trivia night, the music of an 80s tribute party and the interaction and participation of a team building activity.

It’s being brought to the South Burnett as part of a fundraising drive to help send Kingaroy Dance Academy students to the USA at the end of this year, where they’ll dance at several high-profile events including Disneyland.

Bogan Bingo will be performed at the Kingaroy Showgrounds from 6:00pm to about 11:30pm this Saturday night (October 28), kicking off with a barbecue and bar.

The first game of bingo will start at 8:00pm and play will be in tables of seven with a grazing platter on each table.

Tickets to this adults-only event are $30 per person, and all guests are encouraged to dress to the bogan theme.

Tickets can be obtained from CTC Mechanical or Andersson’s Fruit Market, both in Kingaroy.
