South Burnett businesses and job seekers who’d like to be involved in the construction of the Coopers Gap Wind Farm are being invited to a meeting in Kingaroy on Wednesday, October 25.
AGL and principal contractors GE and Catcon will be giving presentations about the wind farm project.
They will also be providing information about the range of materials, goods and services that will need to be obtained during the project’s two-year construction phase.
GE, a global digital industrial company, and Australian civil engineering construction company CATCON have been awarded the contract to design and construct the 453MW Coopers Gap Wind Farm project at Cooranga North.
On completion in 2019, the project will be the largest wind farm in Australia.
GE and CATCON are strongly committed to working with local businesses and organisations to deliver local employment and supply chain opportunities.
The aim of the meeting is to provide an opportunity for businesses and job seekers to meet key project personnel with responsibility for the design of the wind farm, sourcing business solutions, and purchasing goods and services.
The meeting will be held inside the Luncheon Hall at Kingaroy Showgrounds in Youngman Street, Kingaroy.
Doors will open at 5:00pm for registrations and AGL, GE and Catcon will deliver presentations from 5:30pm to 6:00pm.
This will be followed by meetings with representatives from GE and CATCON between 6:00pm and 7:00pm.
A second, similar meeting will be held at the Australian Hotel Motel in Dalby from 5:00pm to 7:00pm on Thursday, October 26 for the benefit of Western Downs businesses.
Further details can be obtained by email.
