You’ve heard of Grey Nomads, but what about Grey Solos?
“Solos” are campervanners who travel the roads by themselves, and a vast majority of them are women.
Travelling alone can create some difficulties, which is why Solo rallies – such as the one organised this week at Nanango by the Campervan and Motorhome Association of Australia (CMCA) – are popular.
The Solos Network was formed in 1997 as a Special Interest Group within the CMCA.
Their 20th Birthday Solos Network rally will be held at Nanango Showgrounds from September 18-25.
The visitors are planning to enjoy dancing, dinners, seminars, dress-ups and wine-tasting tours when they’re on site.
Local residents have been invited to drop in on September 23 to enjoy a Poets Breakfast with the visitors from 8:00am.
