Police are seeking public help following an incident where a police car was damaged by another vehicle near Kingsthorpe on Thursday night.

Initial investigations indicate that around 10:20pm, police spotted a suspected stolen blue Nissan Navara dual cab ute on the Warrego Highway.

As police approached, the driver of the vehicle drove at and hit the police car twice, before crashing the ute through a fence and fleeing.

The Nissan caused significant damaged to the police car but no one was injured in the incident.

The ute is believed to have been stolen from a Wyley Street address in Dalby and has extensive damage to its front wheels.

Police believed the vehicle could be travelling in the Dalby, Chinchilla, Tara or Toowoomba areas.

The driver is described as Caucasian in appearance with light brown hair, short facial stubble and was last seen wearing a black hoodie and black pants.

The female passenger is described as Caucasian in appearance with dark hair and was last seen wearing a grey hoodie.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant dashcam footage has been asked to contact contact Policelink on 13-14-44 or Crime Stoppers anonymously on 1800-333-000.
