The South Burnett PCYC is running a special road safety program over the school holidays for children aged 15 or above, or adults eager to brush up their skills.
The PCYC Braking the Cycle Program uses a professional driving simulator to educate drivers on the general principles of driving, as well as simulating hazardous road conditions, and education scenarios such as the dangers of drink driving and texting.
Sgt Rod Gelderblom said the simulations were so precise that hours conducted in the simulator were able to be counted as learner driving hours by an authorised instructor.
The simulator is only capable of handling a single participant at one time so sessions have to be booked.
They can be booked as a single session or used as a group educational tool for the knowledge of road users, young and old.
People interested in using the simulator should contact the South Burnett PCYC on (07) 4168-1889, or by email
