NBN Co has switched on a new fixed wireless broadband tower at Lower Wonga East, the latest of 18 new sites activated throughout Australia last month.
Regional Communications Minister Fiona Nash said the 18 new sites would reach 3747 homes and businesses.
“Customers love fixed wireless,” Ms Nash said.
“(It) has the highest satisfaction rating on the NBN and offers speeds of up to 50mbps download and 20mbps a second upload.”
She said almost 200,000 homes and businesses in regional and rural Australia were already connected to the fixed wireless network.
