A 33-year-old Wattle Camp man will face a drink-driving charge after he was stopped by the Kingaroy Road Policing Unit on Markwell Street, Kingaroy, on Thursday evening.

Senior Constable Jade Miller said the man had a reading 0.103, more than twice the legal limit.

“His licence was immediately suspended and he was issued with a Notice to Appear in the Kingaroy Magistrates Court on September 25,” Senior Constable Miller said.

A learner driver has learned the hard way that it doesn’t pay to speed.

The 21-year-old man was pulled over by the Kingaroy Road Policing Unit doing 133km/h in a 100 km/h zone near Ban Ban Springs on the Burnett Highway on Friday morning.

He was issued with a $588 fine and lost six demerit points and his licence.

A 38-year-old Murgon man will face a charge of drug-driving after Dalby police pulled over a Holden sedan on the Bunya Highway at 3:25pm on Tuesday.

A roadside drug test and a subsequent analysis allegedly returned a positive result.

The man will appear in Dalby Magistrates Court on September 25.

A Burra Burri man was a long way from home when he allegedly went to sleep on the doorstep of a Dalby home last week.

Police were called after the occupants of the house were woken by an unknown person allegedly trying to gain entry.

When they arrived, they found a 20-year-old man intoxicated and asleep beside the front door, with his jeans and boots beside him.

The man has been charged with trespassing and will appear in Dalby Magistrates Court on September 26.
