A wanted man has been extradited from Kingaroy to NSW to face a string of charges including counts linked to an alleged attempt to stab a police officer.

The man was arrested after a tip-off from NSW police.

Acting Senior Sergeant Brad Johannesen, from Kingaroy Police, said it appeared the 46-year-old had been living in Kingaroy under an alias for a number of months.

Warrants were issued for his arrest in NSW in January and February on charges of reckless wounding, two counts of going armed with intent to commit an indictable offence, two counts of affray, two counts of assaulting a police officer and threatening injury to a person.

A 26-year-old South Burnett woman was taken to Kingaroy Hospital for assessment after a single vehicle crash on Coolabunia Road, near the D’Aguilar Highway intersection, on Sunday evening.

The incident occurred just before 7:00pm.

The woman’s vehicle left the road and ended up on its roof in a table drain.

Acting Snr Sgt Johannesen said police investigations into the cause of the crash were continuing.

“Inquiries are being made to see if drugs or alcohol were a contributing factor,” he said.

A 23-year-old woman was taken to Kingaroy Hospital with minor injuries after a single vehicle crash about 7:00pm on Kumbia Road at Kumbia on Monday night.

The woman told police she swerved to miss a cow.
