The South Burnett Karate Association will be hosting Round VI of the International Sports Karate Association’s Mat Sports in Kingaroy next Sunday (August 6).

All martial art systems will be represented, including Karate, Tae Kwon Do, Kung Fu and Kick Boxing.

This is the third time this annual event has been held in Kingaroy.

South Burnett Karate Association spokesperson Kelly Randall said more competitors were coming to Kingaroy every year.

“This year we expect over 100 competitors and even more spectators and supporters,” she said.

The tournament is being held at Kingaroy State High School’s indoor sports auditorium.

“It’s going to be a spectacular day!” Kelly said.

“Competitors are travelling from as far as Cairns and Sydney to this event.

“World title holders will be there as all competitors will be taking advantage of this competition as it is the last before State Titles in September and then the World Cup in Sydney in October.”

Doors open at 8:00am; spectator entry is $10.
