A truck driver had a lucky escape when his B-Double left the road and flipped on its side near Benarkin on Sunday night.

The incident occurred just after 8:30pm on the D’Aguilar Highway, about two kilometres east of Benarkin.

The B-Double, which was carrying empty produce boxes, was heading towards Blackbutt when the incident occurred.

An ambulance was called to the scene but the driver did not require treatment.

Police and QFES from Blackbutt also attended.

SES volunteers directed traffic around the incident.

One lane of the highway remained open while emergency vehicles were on the scene.

The wrecked truck was due to be righted and removed by heavy lift vehicles from Claytons Towing during the early hours of Monday morning.
