Downer’s Meandu Mine employees have marked their success in the company’s Health, Safety and Environment awards by making donations to four local charities.
The company won prizes for
- Best Overall Health and Safety Performance
- Best Safety Innovation
- Best Environmental Innovation, and
- Sustainability
Winning mines have the opportunity of donating their prizes to a community organisation of their choice.
The Meandu Mine team selected:
- South Burnett Community Private Hospital Foundation, the fund-raising body supporting the Lady Bjelke-Petersen Community Hospital in Kingaroy
- Red Earth Community Foundation South Burnett, organisers of the South Burnett Leadership Program
- South Burnett Pantry in Kingaroy, and
- Yarraman P-9 State School
Each received a donation of $5000 from the company.
