Kingaroy police are warning local residents again to always lock their vehicles after a spate of recent thefts.

Acting Senior Sergeant Brad Johannesen said items had been stolen from 10 vehicles in Kingaroy over the past seven days.

Almost all these vehicles had been left unlocked.

Snr Sgt Johannesen said the thief or thieves were wandering around town and simply trying car doors to see if they would open.

The thefts have not been concentrated in one location; incidents have been recorded in Earl Street, Gladys Street, Murray Parade and other streets.

Kingaroy Police this week did a “flyer drop” around town emphasising the “Lock It or Lose It” message.

Snr Sgt Johannesen said the thieves were just looking for easy targets so people should not be making it simpler for them.
