Applications opened on Monday for this year’s round of bursaries offered by the National Council of Women of Queensland.
There are a number of bursaries available, some with special requirements which could attract applicants from the South Burnett.
Two with residential requirements are:
South Burnett Mayor’s Bursary
- A female resident of the South Burnett Regional Council area
- Enrolled in a full-time, part-time or distance education course – either university or TAFE, to further develop your skills as a primary producer, or for the benefit of those residents of the local region
- Can demonstrate your contribution to your local community, for example through a sports group, school, church, service club, CWA etc
- An Australian citizen or Permanent Resident of Australia.
David Littleproud Bursary
- A female first-year, full-time student in a tertiary course, such as at university, TAFE, the Conservatorium of Music
- A constituent of the Maranoa electorate, Queensland, although you may have relocated for your studies.
- Have been involved in your home community, through activities such as in your school, sports, or services, and are engaging in community activities in your place of study
- An Australian citizen or a Permanent Resident of Australia
There are also specific bursaries being offered by the NCWQ for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander women, women studying science subjects, women who identify with the LGBTIQ community, stay-at-home mums, plus many others.
There are almost 30 bursaries on offer.
