Kilkivan RSL Sub-Branch has received a $1003 grant from the Federal Government as part of the “Saluting Their Service” program.
Member for Wide Bay Llew O’Brien said the funding would be used to refurbish the flagpole and install pavers at Anzac Memorial Park in Kilkivan.
“The improvements to Anzac Memorial Park will ensure the community can preserve and honour our local history and the memory of those who have fallen in service of our country,” Mr O’Brien said.
The Saluting Their Service Community Commemorative Grants program provides grants of up to $4000 for an individual project.
It is a “rolling’ grants program, so applications can be submitted at any time.
Mr O’Brien said community organisations interested in applying for funding under the program should contact the Department of Veterans’ Affairs’ Commemorative Grants team on 1800-026-185 or by email
