Police have warned motorists to expect long delays soon on the Toowoomba Range due to construction work on the Second Range Crossing.
Construction company Nexus is preparing for the delivery of bridge girders and long deck units needed to build the new highway.
Due to the size of some of these deliveries, there will be delays and intermittent closures of the westbound lanes of the Warrego Highway on the Toowoomba Range between midnight and 4:00am.
Motorists and heavy vehicle operators can expect delays of about one hour at a time.
The first westbound lane closures on the Warrego Highway will occur late in the evening (approximately from midnight) on March 19, 22 and 23.
The transport program on the Toowoomba Range is expected to be completed by 4:00am each day, weather and construction conditions permitting.
