Kraft’s peanut butter spreads – the destination for many of the peanuts processed in Kingaroy – have changed hands.
Recent publicity that Bega Cheese had acquired Vegemite overlooked the full extent of Bega’s $460 million purchase of the MDLZ Grocery Business.
Bega has also purchased licences for ZoOSH salad dressing, Bonox, Kraft peanut butter, Kraft processed cheese slices and cheese spread, Kraft mayonnaise, Kraft parmesan cheese, Kraft Easy Mac and Kraft Mac & Cheese.
Bega has also bought Kraft’s Port Melbourne manufacturing plant.
Bega Cheese executive chairman Barry Irvin said acquiring the iconic brands provided strong building blocks to help Bega become a great consumer goods business.
