Nanango RSL Sub-Branch is one of more than 60 organisations across Australia which have received funding under the Federal Government’s “Saluting Their Service” grants program.
The Nanango sub-branch will receive $2496 to buy and install cabinets in the Nanango Memorial Club to display memorabilia.
Veterans Affairs Minister Dan Tehan said more than $160,000 had been awarded to 66 community projects.
“It’s vital we ensure that the contribution of all those who have served our nation, and continue to do so, will be remembered and appropriately honoured,” Mr Tehan said.
“These grants enable communities across the nation to build and preserve memorials and undertake community awareness and education activities to help educate younger generations about Australia’s wartime history.”
