A 32-year-old Nanango man was killed on Sunday when his sedan and a livestock semi-trailer collided on the D’Aguilar Highway near Nanango.

The head-on crash occurred about 11:30am in the 100km/h zone near the entrance to the Nanango Caravan Park.

Debris was strewn across the highway.

Ambulance and fire crews were called to the scene, while police and SES directed traffic.

The D’Aguilar Highway was closed for about five hours with detours put in place.

The Nanango man was the sole occupant of the Holden Statesman, which was heading south.

The semi-trailer was heading north.
