Another five big boxes packed with 1000 or so bras are on their way to Papua New Guinea, thanks to the efforts of Nanango resident Jenny Morgan and generous donations by South Burnett residents.

Jenny and her husband Rod loaded up their car with the boxes last week, ready to hand them over to pilot Gary Clifford for their trip to Milne Bay.

The bras will be distributed in local villages.

During a trip to PNG, Jenny was surprised to learn that bras were considered “luxury items” by local women because they were either unavailable or if available, were usually imported from Asia and too small.

So she put out a call in the South Burnett for donations, and the bras started flooding in.

This is the second load of bras that she has shipped to Milne Bay.

Anyone who’d like to assist Jenny in her quest to help the women of PNG can call her on (07) 4163-1055.

As before, bras – especially larger sizes – can be left at Morgan’s Health Solutions in Nanango, Nanango Real Estate, Sasswear in Kingaroy Shoppingworld, Nanango RSL Sub-Branch, the Bunya Nut Cafe in Blackbutt, Goomeri Information Centre, and the Murgon Services Club.

Bras can also be mailed directly to Jenny at PO Box 2, Nanango, 4615.
