The Bureau of Meteorology has warned Wide Bay and Burnett residents that a severe fire danger is forecast for Thursday (November 24).

A surface trough will push northeast across southern and central Queensland during Thursday.

Moderate south to southwesterly winds, and a very hot and dry air mass will follow the trough over inland parts of south-east Queensland.

All permits to light fires will be cancelled from midnight on Wednesday.

The Rural Fire Service has advised residents to action their Bushfire Survival Plan, and monitor the fire and weather situation on radio, www.ruralfire.qld.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au
