The 2017 Show Holiday in the South Burnett will be held to coincide with the Monday of Ekka week.
At its July meeting, South Burnett councillors voted to request Exhibition Monday as the Show Holiday for the South Burnett – the practice for recent years.
Council has now been advised by the State Government that this has been accepted, which means the Show holiday will be held on Monday, August 14, 2017.
“I believe it to be reasonable for the South Burnett to have our show holiday linked to the Brisbane Ekka as we are a rural community and it is heavily supported by our community as a whole,” Mayor Keith Campbell said.
(Council has to vote on the Show Holiday every year).
