You could buy a one-bedroom unit in Sydney … or 16 houses (some tenanted), a community hall, large work sheds, a dam and “park-like” paddocks in rural Queensland.
The cost? Both would set you back $750,000.
The marketing of the former timber town of Allies Creek, north of Boondooma, attracted a lot of publicity earlier this year and it quickly looked like a savvy buyer had snapped it up.
But sadly, the sale fell through .. which means the little town is back on the market.
The 40-acre property, which is surrounded by forest and natural bushland, also includes the decommissioned Allies Creek sawmill.
Ideas that have been suggested for the future of the town include a conference area, health retreat or caravan park.
Agent Julie Sutton, from Sutton Nationwide Realty at Gin Gin, said the property was on five titles and three-phase power ran across the area.
“It’s really park-like throughout,” she said.
