A two vehicle crash on Tuesday morning led to a Kingaroy man, 59, being airlifted to Brisbane.

Kingaroy Police officer-in-charge Senior Sergeant Duane Frank said the incident occurred at 7:20am.

He said it appeared the man, who was driving a Ford Falcon, had turned out of Harris Road into Walter Road, Kingaroy and collided with a Mazda Dual Cab heading towards Nanango.

The Mazda was fitted with a bull bar and the Falcon took the full impact.

The driver of the Ford was attended to by ambulance officers at the scene, then taken to Kingaroy Hospital where he was later transferred to a helicopter.

The driver of the Mazda, also from Kingaroy, was shaken but uninjured.

The police forensic crash team are investigating the incident.
