FLASHBACK: Rosie Schmidt and Sharyn Garrett were having a great time in the big crowd that turned out for Kumbia’s annual Melbourne Cup Day race meeting last year

October 17, 2016

Melbourne Cup Day isn’t far away now … and neither in the South Burnett’s annual Melbourne Cup Day race meeting at Kumbia.

The Nanango Tourism and Development Association (NaTDA) has organised a bus trip from Nanango to the Kumbia Races on Cup Day for the last two years, and it’s been so successful they’re running it again this year, too.

Anyone who would like to enjoy Cup Day at Kumbia is very welcome to come along, whether they’re NaTDA members or not.

The bus will depart from the South Burnett Energy Centre in Henry Street, Nanango at 10:00am on Tuesday, November 1, and arrive at the race course about 10:45am in plenty of time for the first race, which will leave the barriers around noon.

Guests will have special access to shade at the track – just BYO seating – and sweeps will be conducted on the bus, which will leave the race track at 4:00pm for the trip back to Nanango.

All inclusive return bus tickets are $25 and include track entry fees, which are normally $10 for adults and $5 for concessions.

Tickets can be obtained at Orchys Fresh or the South Burnett Energy Centre, but they need to be purchased before October 31.
