UPDATE October 10, 2016

12:45pm Officer-in-charge of Kingaroy Police, Senior Sergeant Duane Frank, said police divers located the man’s body shortly after 10:00am, very close to where he was last seen in the water.

The depth of the water was about six metres.

He confirmed the man was a 20-year-old from Highfields, near Toowoomba.

11:15am Police have located a body at Coomba waterhole, believed to be that of the missing man.

Police divers found the body near where the man jumped from a rock into the water on Sunday afternoon. A report will be prepared for the Coroner.

10:00am The missing man is yet to be found however police confirmed on Monday morning that divers are looking for a 20-year-old Darling Downs man.

A teenager is missing after an incident at Coomba waterhole, near Maidenwell, on Sunday afternoon.

The 17-year-old was with friends when he jumped into the water off rocks.

A police media spokesman told southburnett.com.au the teenager started to resurface but then was not seen again.

Emergency crews were called to the scene at 2:20pm.

Police, SES, firefighters and ambulance crews attended.

Officer-in-charge of Nanango Police, Sergeant Jason Newton, said the creek banks had been searched around the waterhole, and a boat had also been deployed.

He said if the teenager was not found before dusk, police would remain at the scene overnight.

The waterhole remains cordoned off from the public.

Divers were expected to join the search on Monday morning.
