Former Gunners soccer star Ryan Mooney has been selected in the referees panel for the Foxtel National Youth League.

A total of 29 refs have been picked for the prestigious junior competition, with Ryan just one of four Queenslanders named.

Ryan started his refereeing career in the South Burnett competition, but moved to Brisbane to further his football career several years ago.

The National Youth League is a developmental competition run by Football Federation Australia.

Ten teams, each connected with an A League club, play in two conferences.

Each plays eight games with the top teams in each conference playing in a Grand Final.
