October 3, 2016

The 2016-17 South Burnett cricket season will get under way next Saturday (October 8) in a new-look, combined competition consisting of both A and B Grade teams.

This could lead to some interesting conundrums for spectators (and players), for example, when Kingaroy RSL Services A Grade plays Kingaroy RSL Services B Grade on November 26!

Round 1 games:

  • Cherbourg v Murgon B at Murgon Sportsground
  • Murgon A v Warriors A at Murgon Sportsground
  • Warriors B v Wondai at Wondai
  • Nanango v Kingaroy RSL A at Lyle Vidler Oval, Kingaroy

NB. The Round 1 game between Kingaroy RSL B and Kumbia (at Kumbia) has been postponed to October 15.

Representative cricket is also poised to get underway, with South Burnett U12, U14 and U16 teams due to play Bundaberg in the South Burnett on October 9.

An U19 South Burnett side will be in action in Maryborough on October 8-9, while an A Grade South Burnett side will begin their Goodchild Shield campaign in Bundaberg on October 15-16.
