The Queensland Productivity Commission has been asked to conduct an inquiry into the delivery of services in indigenous communities.

Treasurer Curtis Pitt said on Thursday the inquiry would determine if government investments were “achieving value for money, especially in remote communities”.

He said it would examine the delivery of health, education, housing, employment, and other services.

Mr Pitt said the establishment of the QPC was an election commitment and the commission had been operating since November last year.

It had already completed inquiries into electricity pricing and solar power feed-in pricing.
