The South Burnett Regional Council will begin widening a stretch of Kumbia Brooklands Road on Monday (September 12).
The project will create a two-lane sealed surface from the Stuart River Bridge at Alice Creek for 1.2km towards Kumbia.
Construction work will include clearing, earthworks, drainage, gravel pavement, bitumen sealing, line marking and signage.
It is expected the work will be completed by December.
During construction, traffic will still be able to travel along this section, but motorists may encounter minor delays.
Local residents with concerns during the construction period have been asked to contact the onsite supervisor.
