The Winds Of Change Art Gallery’s annual Medieval Fayre had its fourth outing in Nanango on Saturday … a time when everything old is suddenly popular again.
Visitors enjoyed sword fights, medieval music – including wandering minstrels – as well as checking out the almost 20 stalls which were selling everything from gemstones to artwork.
Ironically – for a Federal electorate where 34 per cent of people voted for One Nation – a popular highlight of the Fayre was the Bedouin tent where men and women were taking their leisure in traditional Arab garb.
(But just don’t wear that hijab to the ATM … one visitor noted she received a couple of quizzical looks when she wore her colourful veil uptown.)
Winds Of Change president Sue Goeldner said although numbers were down slightly this year, the 2016 Medieval Fayre had gone really well and everyone who had come along had enjoyed themselves.
Extra food stalls were featured, including Indian cuisine and German sausages, which had proven popular.
Sue said she was now looking forward to next year’s Medieval Fayre.
