Workplace Health and Safety Queensland has organised a free webinar for employers in a bid to cut the number of workers being killed while working near heavy vehicles.
Between 2012 and 2015, 14 workers died in Queensland after being crushed or hit by a heavy vehicle or trailer because it was not effectively immobilised.
The webinar will assist businesses to understand and control the risks associated with immobilising heavy vehicles and trailers, as well as resources available for the transport industry.
It will be held on Wednesday, September 14, from noon to 12:45pm.
It is part of a campaign by Workplace Health and Safety targeting truck safety, including safely working under trucks or trailers, truck and trailer maintenance and coupling and de-coupling trailers.
