Nanango teams are topping the points table in all their age groups after three rounds of the Central Burnett Netball Challenge.

Round 3 of the challenge was played at the Nanango netball courts at the weekend, with the local club hosting 200 players.

Nanango U15s finished the day undefeated, keeping their record intact from earlier rounds.

Other teams taking part in the four-round competition come from Mundubbera, Monto and Gayndah.

“We are extremely proud of the girls who attended this carnival, all putting 100 per cent into their play,” Nanango Club president Sheena Lindholm said.

“The organising committee did a great job to get the grounds ready for play as we knew this would be a way for us to fundraise for our desperately needed new courts. We still have $90,000 left to go.

“Sportsmanship was excellent between clubs, even with an impromptu showing of the Nutbush Dance led by the Nanango and District team as a warm-up exercise.

“Regional carnival days really showcase the great attributes of regional clubs and celebrate country associations coming together.”

Round 4 of the Challenge will be played in Gayndah on September 4.
